A time-tested method for making money online that will continue to work for a long time to come is e-mail marketing. It is said that a newcomer to online marketing will benefit a lot more by focusing on list building and e-mail marketing as early as possible. This is the ideal method if you want to work part-time hours. Of course, there is more to e-mail marketing than simply building a list of people who want to hear from you. Getting people on your list is only have of the process; the other half is selling to them. Next, we will look at a few tricks that can get your list to buy.

Make sure that all of the important parts of your message are in your text. There are plenty of people who purposely block images or code from downloading so they can try and stop spammers attacking their computers. By trying to hide the important bits of your message behind images or in code, you risk nobody ever seeing them. There are servers happy to label emails containing too much code or showing too many images as being spam, so you risk your mailing list receiving nothing from you at all.

Avoid hurrying when writing your emails. Depending on your market, your emails do need to keep them interested in what you have to say, and then give them a good reason to visit your offers. Your connection will be stronger if you write normally and with your own “voice.”

It’s certainly fine to show yourself. If you’re like everyone else, what’s the difference? Your chances of getting “X’d” out will only increase.

Your subject line should be creative but to the point. You want to summarize your e-mail message in a single sentence. Your subject line is often what will make people decide whether or not they want to open your e-mails at all. E-mail marketing is easier when done through a newsletter.

E-mailing a standalone promotion without the surrounding content that comes with a newsletter doesn’t work as well. You want to let your recipients know that you have a great offer for them. The key is not to use sales tactics that are too pushy. Whether you have a newsletter or not, e-mail marketing is still superior to many other methods.

Email marketing is an art form. Many internet marketers do not realize this, and that is why you get so many messages that sound the same, are poorly written and are full of easily fixable mistakes. Seems many of them think all they need to do is say, “Hello,” and then say, “Buy this now.” The best approach is to learn how to market to your list the right way, and then do your best to craft compelling email copy. You will get better with it as long as you do those things and always keep working at it.
